A recent technology exchange event in Nanshan District successfully brought together over 60 Chinese and South Korean innovative companies for face-to-face meetings, sparking potential collaborations for coordinated development.

The event, focused on specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce novel and unique products, was co-hosted by the “Go Global” Global Service Center, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Municipal Committee, South Korea’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), and the Korea INNOBIZ Association.图片1.pngBusinesses conduct discussions at the event.  Courtesy of Global Service Center

It featured five dedicated matching zones—including machinery & materials and batteries & electronic components—to facilitate targeted discussions based on industry chains and specific needs.

The high compatibility between the industries of Shenzhen and South Korea provides a solid foundation for cooperation. In the first half of 2025, trade between Shenzhen and South Korea reached 121.1 billion yuan (US$17 million), a year-on-year increase of 6.4%. Shenzhen’s exports were primarily electromechanical products, while its imports from South Korea focused on semiconductor materials and precision equipment.

INNOBIZ, a state-level organization under the MSS for specialized and innovative SMEs, represents a powerful force. Its network includes over 22,000 government-certified, technology-intensive SMEs, whose collective sales account for approximately 9.8% of South Korea’s GDP and 35% of all SME exports from the country.

For this event, INNOBIZ carefully selected 12 companies with core technological advantages in cutting-edge fields like V5X communication security and fourth-generation battery manufacturing, sending them to Shenzhen for direct, point-to-point discussions with local firms.
